The U.S. Department of Education recognizes outstanding schools annually through their National Blue Ribbon Schools Program.  Wallin Elementary School was honored in Washington, DC, at the 2017  awards ceremony as an “Exemplary High Performing” school. The Exemplary High Performing category awards schools that achieved “their state’s highest high school graduation rates and the highest achieving students (the top 15%) in English and mathematics, measured by state assessments”.
